52 Plus System Overview
Phase 1: Foundations
From bringing your pup home to transitioning to the field, this phase lays the ground work of building a successful retriever. This phase is one of the most important and without it, your dog can't reach its potential.
Phase 2: Fetch
Transitioning to field would not be complete without training your dog to retrieve properly. This phase develops a consistent fetch, hold, and release so that your dog can retrieve the right way.
Phase 3: Basic Gundog
With the foundation laid, it's time to see your dog's training come together. Here we throw on the bricks that are foundational for having a gundog. Upon completion of this phase your dog could hunt in easy situations.
Phase 4: Intermediate Gundog
Now that your dog has the core skill sets required to be a gundog, let's turn up the heat and really build a great retriever. Here, we advance the training to give you control and prepare your dog for a multitude of situations that you may face in the field.
Phase 5: Advanced Gundog
Building off of the previous phase you will expand your dogs knowledge and prepare for advanced, yet common situations that you will face in the field. From difficult marks, to advanced handling, and cold blinds, this phase will challenge and propel you to the finish line.
Phase 6: Fully Trained
During this phase your dog is now considered fully trained, but it's still green. Here you'll work on real world scenarios that requires your dog to rely on everything it's learned. This synergistic work fully prepares your dog for the hunting that will come it's way.

My confidence level is sky high right now.
Before I got my pup, Idid a lot of research, watched too many YouTube Videos, and read half a dozen books trying to learn as much as I could. The result of all that research was confusion and a lack of a structured plan that left me looking for something to make this new hobby more palatable. Well, that was the case until CGA and especially 52 Plus. My confidence level is sky high right now.

HIGHLY recommend this training program and this community!!!
Just an incredible program that is beyond reliable and efficient. I’m using it with my two hunting dogs and they are making leaps and bounds with their training. Additionally, the staff has done a great job in turning this community into family. They’re always available and their professionalism is beyond any other company I have seen.

Have concerns? We understand.
"I'm not sure I can afford this. There are other less expensive options."
52 Plus averages out to less than $24 per week, and keep in mind there may be cost involved with other options out there that you might not know about until it's too late.
The cost of having a dog that doesn't turn out right is more than lost money. It's lost time and it's the heart breaking realization that the dog will only be mediocre at best.
52 Plus will help you avoid this all too common outcome and instead own a hunting dog that saves you time, money, and makes you proud in the field and at home.
"I'm not sure I have what it takes or enough time."
If you have the desire to train your dog, then we can help guide you through every step of the way so that when it's all said and done, you will have a retriever that you are extremely proud of.
You might not know it yet, but you have what it takes.
As far as time goes, that's another reason to choose 52 Plus even more! 52 Plus will help you spend your time training your dog instead of figuring things out.
52 Plus is based on a flexible four day a week training plan. That means that you can fit it in on the days of the week that work for you and if you need some time, take a week or so off and just pick up where you left off in training.
"I don't have a lab. Will this still work for me?"
52 Plus is designed for non-slip retriever work. Meaning, if you are training your dog to hunt as a retriever, then this program is perfect for you.
We've helped people will all kinds of breeds:
- Labradors
- Chessies
- Golden Retrievers
- GSP's and more!
This program is ideal for non-slip retrieval work. If you are looking more for pointing, flushing, and quartering work, we do not cover those topics.
If you are training your dog to hunt upland or waterfowl and you are training them to retrieve then 52 Plus is for you.
"I have a two year old dog that hasn't had any training. Is it too late?"
Whether you have an 8 week old pup or a two year old dog, 52 Plus can help you train it. It's not too late, but there is something you should consider.
A dog that hasn't had any training or very little and is a bit older can take longer than normal to train. The reason is that they have had plenty of time to develop habits. If the habits go against the training, you will have to spend longer on those areas. You will be undoing the bad habits and re-teaching the dog new skills in the bad habits place. This can add to the total training time.
