A dog that hasn't had any training or very little and is a bit older can take longer than normal to train. The reason is that they have had plenty of time to develop habits. If the habits go against the training, you will have to spend longer on those areas. You will be undoing the bad habits and re-teaching the dog new skills in the bad habits place.
